Hot Warm June Mangla Dam Water Level Raised
With major focus to make required hydel power besides to convene the irrigation needs, the water altitude in Mangla dam is being raised quickly to the level of 1173.80 feet next to the highest targeted stage of 1242.00 feet.
The water level was raised by over 133 feet next to the fixed dead level. "The reservoir is being presently filled with the water for the future treatment for irrigation purpose besides to boost power generation",official sources said.
Inflow of waters of the rivers Jhelum, Poonch and other subordinate seasonal streams in Mangla dam remained 63600 cusecs adjacent to the discharge of 60000 cusecs of water from the reservoir, the current live storage of water in the lake is 2. 942 MAF.
